Harps

Making harps in my workshop is a very exclusive and personalized task. Each customer tells me what his or her instrument needs, whether it be tension, the number of strings or octaves needed, the type of instrument desired, the size required, and even his or her budget. Celtic harps, Gothic harps, Latin American harps, Claisearch harps, simple action harps, Folk harps, Medieval harps, etc.

Except for isolated cases, all sound boards are made of Sitka Spruce or common Douglas-fir, which give a much warmer and sweeter sound to the instrument, quite the contrary to the high-pitch sound which we normally find in harps which have been made with plywood sound boards.

The semitone systems used are three of the best ones on the market: Delacours Levers, Salvi and Camac. At times, however, so as to make the construction cheaper, homemade levers, Loveland style, may also be fitted.
